BBM 2007:s4 - Some surprises in BBM's latest radio survey
Let's take a look at the numbers in BBM's Survey 4, 2007, released yesterday, and find out who'll be celebrating during this holiday season.
Toronto: Kudos and bragging rights at the top of the ratings heap go to CHFI-FM with a 9.6% share (up from 8.5%), followed closely by CHUM-FM with 8.9% share (down from 9.2%) of hours tuned for Adults 12+. Very nice gains once again for CBC Radio One (8.4% share, up from 7.0%). CHUM-FM, with Roger, Rick and Marilyn at the helm, continues to lead the way for females 25-54 with a 16.1% share (down from 16.2%). CHFI-FM made significant gains in the #2 position for F25-54 with a 14.4% share (up from 12.2%) followed by EZ Rock 97.3, delivering an 8.5% share (down from 10.8%). Q107 remains a dominant #1 with males 25-54, posting a 13.9% share (same as last book). The Edge fell back a bit, but held its lead with M18-34 turning in a 15.9% share (down from 20.8%). Z103.5 grabbed top spot for females 18-34, delivering a 12.9% (down from 15.1%,) followed by CHUM-FM at 12.6% (down from 18.4%) and MIX99.9 at 10.5% (up from 8.3%).
Vancouver: CKNW remained a consistent #1 for A12+ with a 10.0% share of hours tuned (even with 10.0% last two times out). A very nice book for JR Country, jumping to a 7.3% share from a 6.0% last time. The Beat keeps pounding away, delivering an 8.3% share (up from 7.6%). 103.5 QM-FM reclaimed its spot atop F25-54, delivering an 11.0% share (up from 9.7%). Rock 101 retained its lead in the M25-54 category with an 11.7% share (down from 16.8%). The FOX takes top honours for M18-34 with a 20.8% share (up from 15.3), followed by The Beat at 17.5% (up from 15.8%)
Winnipeg: CJOB kept its grip on its long-lasting leadership position with a 17.2% share of hours tuned for A12+ (up from 16.1%). CBC Radio One grabbed the #2 spot with a 10.3% share (up from 8.1%). Hot103 held its lead for F25-54 with a 14.0% share of hours tuned (down from 14.8%). Nice gains in this category for Clear-FM (10.2% up from 6.8%) and BOB-FM (12.4%, up from 9.5%). 92 CITI-FM once again held the #1 position with M25-54 posting a 17.1% (up from 14.5%) share of hours tuned. Power 97 continues to dominate M18-34 with an incredible 29.4% share of hours tuned (up from 21.8%).
Montreal: CBF FM 95,1 Montreal leapt into the lead with an 11.8% (up from 9.5%) share of hours tuned A12+. In the F25-54 race, 105,7 Rythme FM tops the list at 16.5% share (down from19.1%), followed by Rock Détente 107,3 at 12.1% (down from 12.8%). CHOM-FM 94.3 takes top spot for M25-54, posting a 12.3 (up from 12.2%). For Montreal Anglo, CHOM-FM holds down the #1 position for M25-54 with a 19.5% share of hours tuned (down from 21.6%), while F25-54 features MIX96 at 31.3% (down from 32.7%). For Montreal Franco, CBF FM 95,1 holds down the lead for M25-54 with a 13.2 % share of hours tuned (up from 9.1%), while F25-54 has 105,7 Rythme FM delivering a 21.0% share (down from 23.7%).
Calgary: QR77 climbs to the top of A12+ with a 10.5% share of hours tuned (up from 7.8%). JACK-FM claims the #1 position for M25-54 with 12.4% share of hours tuned (up from 10.9%). F25-54 goes to Lite 96 with a 16.2% share of hours tuned (up from 12.1%). CJAY 92 takes an overwhelming lead for M18-34 with a 23.1% share (up from 11.2%).
Edmonton: CHED holds down top honours for A12+ with an 11.7% share (down from 11.9% last time out), followed closely by another good book for the Bear at 10.9% (down from 11.6%). For F25-54, 92.5 Joe-FM is our winner at 16.6% (up from 16.4%), followed by CISN with 14.0% (up from 8.7%). For M25-54, The Bear remains a very strong #1 with a 19.3% (down from 19.9%). M18-34 once again belongs to the Bear with an eye-popping 34.9% share (down from 35.8%).
Ottawa-Gatineau: CBC Radio One blew the lid off with a 14.6% share (up from 8.5%) for A12+. CHEZ 106 continues to lead the way with M25-54, delivering 14.0% share of hours tuned (up from 10.8%). For F25-54, CBC Radio One tops the list with a 12.9% share (up from 7.5%).
