In 1994, John Levy acquired Sportscope, an alphanumeric television channel, which broadcast the first ever 24-hour sports news ticker. Over the past fourteen years, John’s vision and hard work have transformed Sportscope into Score Media; a leader in interactive and authentic sports entertainment. In 1996, Sportscope became Headline Sports when he petitioned and obtained a sports, news and information license from the CRTC . Today, The Score is seen in more than 6.4 million homes across Canada, and Score Media has grown to include Hardcore Sports Radio, a satellite radio network available across North America on SIRIUS Satellite Radio, and other interactive assets including theScore.com, ScoreMobile, and Score Poker.

David Bray, industry analyst and Senior, Vice President of Hennessy & Bray Communications conducted his exclusive conversation with John Levy, on location at Score Media’s head office in Toronto.
